Independence Day, otherwise know as the 4th of July, is the annual celebration to commemorate our founding fathers in their pursuit of our liberty.  This day is a chance for family, friends and communities to get together and celebrate; usually around a barbecue and watching fireworks displays.  Where to go around Falls Church?  Regardless of your choice for celebration we hope you enjoy your weekend, let us know where you were and who you spent this holiday with!

Falls Church City at George Mason High School

  • 7124 Leesburg Pike, Live music will start at 7pm and fireworks will start at 9:30pm

Fairfax City at Fairfax High School

  • Parade through the downtown area at 10am; Musical entertainment begins at 7pm and fireworks will start at dark.

If you decide to stay home and have your own firework display, we suggest you read over the firework safety tips posted by Fairfax County:  http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fr/news/2009archive/2009_048.htm
