Nothing says ‘Christmas’ like the illumination of brightly colored lights!
In one of the greatest scenes from one of the greatest holiday movies, “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation,” Clark W. Griswold gathers his family on the lawn to view the grand lighting of the family home’s holiday lights. Clark exclaims, “Two hundred and fifty strands of lights, one hundred individual bulbs per strand, for a grand total of twenty-five thousand imported Italian twinkling lights…”
“Walking in a Winter Wonderland” in Clear Brook, VA may not offer 25,000 bulbs on a single home, but the annual light show does have over 500,000 bulbs spread over a half-mile! It’s a beautiful scene for all of those who love the fine art of exterior illumination!
Located in Clearbrook Park, this annual light show is celebrating its 12th year and is one of the largest holiday events in the Shenandoah Valley. People traveling from all over the East Coast have made it a point to witness this spectacular display of lights!
Fun for the entire family, the display offers light shows set to music, with bonfires, hot chocolate and cookies. Even Santa Claus loves it – he’s there every night!
“Walking in a Winter Wonderland” is open nightly through Sunday, December 29th from 5:30pm-9:30pm, except for Christmas Eve & Christmas night. Admission is $4 for ages 12 and over; $3 for ages 2-11; and free for toddler’s under 1 year old.
