MyLife in Metro DC: Bolt Bus or Bust

19 Jan
January 19, 2012 Living in the metro DC area, we are pretty spoiled when it comes to travel options. We can jet off on bargain flights from Reagan National or Dulles Airport, avoid the endless hours of commuting traffic using the Metro or Amtrak, or sit just back, relax and let someone else do the driving on a bus. 16 Aug
August 16, 2011 As summer quickly flies by, it’s important to make sure you check off all the “must do’s” on your warm weather list. And while vacations and beach trips top of most of our lists, outdoor concerts are usually a close second. This summer, I was fortunate enough, in the span of just one week, to visit an outdoor concert venue not just once, but twice. Read more [...]

MyLife in Metro DC – Movin' On Up!

19 Apr
April 19, 2011 April 26, 2011 will mark my official one -year anniversary of living in Metro DC. And after one year, it is once again time for me to sign a lease or look for a place to buy. While both my roommate and I absolutely love our condo, David has started to consider the idea of purchasing his first home and I’ve realized that if I want to start saving for my first home, I needed to find a place closer to my realistic “housing budget.” And so the search began…again. MyLife in Metro DC: TOUCHDOWN in the City

08 Feb
February 8, 2011 Well, it's finally happened.  My favorite time of the year has come to an end -- football season is officially over. And while my Hokies sadly under performed in this year’s Orange Bowl, I happily cheered on the Green Bay Packers as they claimed victory over the Pittsburg Steelers this past Sunday in the Super Bowl. It was a bittersweet day as I cherished the last few moments of this year’s beloved football season. And now that the last play has been called and last trophy awarded, all that’s left is a massive void in my weekend lineup.  Hours of the day no longer filled with team rivalries, tailgates and lazy time in front of the TV. I know I’m not the only one suffering Read more [...]
